Out Of The Ashes Chapter 1 part 1Chapter 1 An autumn gust stirred the trees of a dense forest, as a young man, tall and muscular, strode down a thin path within the timber. A Great Dane accompanied him at the side, sniffing the leaves that had already fallen off the oak and maple. The boys dark brown hair flew about just above his eyes, the northerly wind running its chilly fingers through it. He took a deep breath, taking in the smells of the forest, dead leaves, and the thick earthy smell of damp dirt. He stuffed his hands in his pockets, trying to warm then from the nippy breeze. He often went out to that spot to be alone, to write something new, or draw the land around him. He enjoyed himself greatly, although, while he was out there, he had an awful burning and tenseness in his stomach. Whenever he wasn't near his two best friends he felt it.
